Biography
Nícolas Mabilia is a Brazilian film director, screenwriter, and producer. He began his career with the experimental short film Rabune Somnia (2016), which received recognition at the Festival do Minuto. In 2018, he directed the cult horror short Gorete, awarded at film festivals and screened in independent genre showcases.
His filmography also includes the documentary Dayendji – Life of an Immigrant (2024), which portrays the experiences of a Senegalese immigrant in Southern Brazil, and the documentary series It’s Art, It’s Them (É Arte, São Elas, 2025), dedicated to independent female artists from the Serra Gaúcha region and the impact of art on their communities.
In 2025, he released Gorete – The Beginning, a period horror film set in 1924 that expands the universe of the Gorete character.
