FlickTide is a free entertainment discovery platform that helps you find movies by genre, mood, cast and director. It is not a streaming service, does not host video content, and does not require account creation.
We collect the following categories of data when you use the site:

FlickTide uses a small number of cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or sell cookie data to third parties.
Most modern browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Doing so will not affect your ability to browse FlickTide.
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised traffic data. GA4 is configured with IP anonymisation enabled. We do not use GA4 audience features, remarketing, or cross-site tracking.
Data collected by GA4 is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy. You may opt out of GA4 tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Some share links on FlickTide are shortened using Short.io. When you click a short link, Short.io may log the click, your approximate location (country-level), device type, and referrer URL. This data is used in aggregate to measure which films are most shared.
Short.io does not receive your name, email address, or any personally identifying information from FlickTide. Short.io's own privacy policy governs how they handle click data on their platform.
FlickTide links to external streaming platforms (e.g. Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney+), purchase platforms, and other websites. Once you leave FlickTide, this privacy policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any linked third-party site.
Movie metadata and images are sourced from TMDB (The Movie Database) under their API terms. We do not share any user data with TMDB.
We do not store personally identifiable information on our servers. Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics for 14 months under our GA4 configuration. Reaction vote data is stored as anonymous aggregate counts with no user identifiers.
Because we do not collect or store personal data, there is nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your watchlist data lives entirely in your own browser's localStorage and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
FlickTide is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data through our site, please contact us so we can investigate and remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of FlickTide after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
